ALKMAAR- AZ has reached a verbal agreement with Jordy Clasie for the extension of his contract until mid-2025. The new deal also includes an option for an additional year.
The 32-year-old native of Haarlem joined from Southampton FC in 2019 and has since played 142 official matches in the AZ jersey. The midfielder also made a comeback with the Dutch National Team as an AZ player.
Key Player
Clasie was one of AZ's most important players last season. Due to Bruno Martins Indi's injury, the international often took the field as the captain and participated in 53 matches. In these 53 matches, he started every game, tallying three goals and five assists.
